Guests consistently praise the unbeatable location and top-tier service at this modern property, specifically highlighting the rooftop pool's views and comfortable, clean rooms. The main drawbacks involve the air conditioning system not cycling back on automatically and varying water temperature in the pool.
The hotel is nice as well as the rooms. The only issue we had was the thermostat. At night it got pretty warm. Apparently there is a sensor on it and when there is no movement in the room the air cuts off. We had to get up throughout the first night and continue to tap it. When we went to bed it was set on 65, but I'm the middle of the night the temp rises to 75. If you attempt to open the windows for a breeze, just know that the AC has sensors on the windows and will shut off with a message to close them in order for it to work. We did complain at the front desk and I'm not sure if an engineer fixed it remotely, but after that it stayed pretty cool. It's located right in the center of the Pike. There is plenty to do within walking distance, from food, shopping, the beach, the aquarium and other tourist attractions. The rooftop pool was nice on a hot day, but unless you rent a cabana, the chairs are first come first serve.
So glad we took a chance on this hotel. The location is perfect, just one block from the pier/beach and dozens of restaurants. Our room had a sofa and a nice modern shower. The heated pool on the rooftop is a nice touch, with nice lounge areas and incredible views. The mattress in our bed was a bit soft, but otherwise we loved it.
Spent one night here after our cruise to rest and it was fantastic. Great clean room with a nice view. The pool was very nice (not heated) but didn't use it. Did grab a drink from the market then lounge on the rooftop and read which was nice. You can see the cruise ships and Queen Mary from the roof and hear the regular horns. Staff (David) was super friendly and gave great recommendations for food in the area. Location is close to outlets and not a far walk from the beach (15 mins). Only comments for improvement would be the lotion supplied is not my favorite- it doesn't absorb. Additionally, when getting breakfast, there was only one person working so they were having to run around and do everything themselves while people waited. Breakfast was good, though! Would stay again.
Jan 2026 We usually stay at the Hyatt Regency Long Beach which is literally over the road. This was fully booked for the week we were there due to an event at the convention centre. So we found this Hyatt just a few minutes walk away. It was in a good location, near the shops and Shoreline village/marina, loads of restaurants/Starbucks. About 10minutes from the beach- lovely walk there. The actual hotel is nice and modern. The staff are friendly and helpful. The pool is on the roof which is very cool! The weather was only warm enough to swim a couple of the days we were there. It says the water is heated in the pool- but it wasn't when we were there! Lovely views from the pool- of the Queen Mary and cruise ships etc The poolside bar area was closed so no drinks etc to grab which was a bit inconvenient but it was January I guess. I personally do prefer The Hyatt Regency, however this was a pleasant alternative and I liked the room layout (1x Queen 1x double room) it was more spacious than the rooms I've had at The Hyatt Regency. Overall a nice hotel with loads to do close by.
I had a wonderful stay at Hyatt Centric The Pike Long Beach, and the experience truly exceeded my expectations. The service was outstanding from start to finish, every staff member was warm, attentive, and genuinely eager to help, which made me feel welcomed and valued throughout my stay. The hospitality was top-notch, with thoughtful touches and quick responses to any request. The location is also unbeatable: right in the heart of The Pike, within walking distance of great restaurants, shopping, and the waterfront, making it incredibly convenient to explore Long Beach. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for excellent service, comfort, and a perfect location, and I can’t wait to return.
The hotel is very nice. Clean, well furnished rooms with a cozy modern feel. Parking is limited to the parking garage across the street, which is $16 per day, but at least it is close by. There is quite a bit of shopping and dining within walking distance. I walked down to the harbor and then on to the beach, though that is a pretty far walk. The fitness center has some basic equipment, but isn't anything special. There is a very nice fitness center across the street if you need access to better equipment.
Great location and very clean hotel. Great art and decor everywhere you look! Staff was very kind… greeted you every time you walked by. Can walk to many places. They will validate first couple hours of parking in garage.
We had a wonderful stay. The front desk was welcoming with a smile and quick check in. The beds are so COMFORTABLE!! The room was very clean and modern with a great layout. We stayed the night before our cruise. On our cruise we were in a suite which stated luxurious beds and bedding but after the bed at the Hyatt Centric Pike the bed on our cruise didn’t even compare. We will definitely stay again. Great walking distance to shopping and many good restaurant options.
I stayed for one night and checked in on the app before arriving. I parked at the parking Pike parking garage right next to the hotel ($16/night). As soon as I arrived I was greeted by an attentive man at the front desk. I got my room key, headed up to my room, which was clean and quiet. The rain shower was amazing and had great water pressure. Bed and pillows were also very comfortable!
The Hyatt Centric at The Pike has a location so good, you’ll forgive the rooms for being... well, trying their best. They’re clean and have a bed (always a plus), but let’s just call the vibe “cozy minimalist” instead of “sparse.” You’re really paying for the amazing access to Long Beach—perfect for people who use their hotel room only for sleeping and storing souvenirs. Great for explorers; less so for those who want to lounge in luxury all day.
