The Hyatt Regency Long Beach receives mixed reviews, with many praising its location, friendly staff, and convenient access to attractions. However, guests have reported issues with dated rooms, inconsistent elevator service, and sometimes limited amenities like the pool. Recent reviews highlight exceptional service from specific staff members, particularly Cedric, but also mention concerns about cleanliness and breakfast options.
This place has great views and the staff is wonderful but the room is old and dated. The bed is not comfortable, the couch looks like it's from the 90s, and it feels like it too. Carpet needs cleaning, wallpaper peeling, I mean i feel Like they gave us a non-updated room. For Hyatt, i expected better. Other locations we been have been maintained better.
Cedric, the entertainer?? Just wanna send a wonderful shout out to Cedric who definitely entertained us at the front desk! Give that man a $10,000 raise! He was so helpful with our early check-in and gave plenty of recommendations of things that we could do in the area. We stayed in the hotel one night because we were leaving for a cruise the next day. The port by Uber was only about eight minutes away. Highly recommend using Uber. It was way more cost-efficient. The restaurant that Cedric referred us to was Mediterranean, and it was exactly as he said it would be wonderful! We got an upgrade on the room, and there were some other little perks that came with it as well. I don’t wanna say what they are. It’s up to you to upgrade your room.?? But definitely Cedric deserves a raise! Also, the concierge’s there was so nice. They washed our luggage so we could go out and eat before or it was time to head out! Housekeeping was also amazing! We had no problems. We already said when we come back to Long Beach. We will definitely be staying at this location again! I had pictures of the room, but I don’t know what happened to them but definitely we will be coming back in 10 out of 10. Recommend!
This is a great hotel located directly next to the convention center. That said, most of the guests are there for business. I did have an event that I was staying at, but I brought my family. I loved how central it was to me that I could go to the convention, and my family could go shopping, see the water, and all that good stuff. The gym they have is great; gym has more than most hotel gyms. The rooms were pretty good. The elevators, during our stay, were something going on with them, but other than that, I would definitely recommend this place if you’re in town for business and would like to bring your family.
Great stay overall. The hotel is clean, modern, and perfectly located near the waterfront with beautiful views. The rooms were comfortable and well-kept, and the staff was friendly and professional from check-in to check-out. Walking distance to restaurants, shops, and attractions made everything super convenient. Definitely a solid choice for both relaxation and exploring Long Beach I’d stay here again without hesitation.
It was a good stay. The rooms are modern, and the lobby is generally open. There's a bar and a cafe for grab and go, as well as a kitchen. The lobby is beautiful and the rooms are also perfect. This time around however, there were issues with the room key to go up to our room via the elevator. This wasn't the same for all elevators, but it was frustrating if multiple people got on at the same time as the elevator simply didn't take any more cards and took you for a ride. Other than that, a wonderful experience.
I found Long Beach and the harbour okay Liked · Good Points: * The room was nice, and the staff were friendly. * I appreciated the gym and the assistance I received from Ana, who resolved some billing issues for me. * When a strange odour occurred in my room, the staff promptly offered me another room, which I greatly appreciated. * The hotel arranged a Hollywood Tour, which was great, but for other tour options, guests had to make arrangements independently. Disliked · Areas for Improvement: * The food selection in the “market” could be expanded. * The breakfast options could be more enticing. * I recommend ensuring that the hallways to the rooms are cleaned more frequently. General Observations: * I noticed a higher presence of homeless individuals in Long Beach, which might reflect broader social challenges. I even assisted someone in locating a lost phone. * During my stay, there didn’t seem to be many activities available, perhaps due to the off-season.
After returning from a long day, we noticed that only one of the two beds had been made, while the other was left untouched. We want both of our kids to be comfortable and happy. There were no personal items on the bed, aside from a $6 tip. We spoke with the front desk and were told that a manager would contact us, but we never received a call. Honestly, the size of the bathroom and the quality of the cleanliness did not meet a four-star hotel standard.
Top floor great views. Hotel is a little dated but clean. Large room. Big TV but TV operation is a little clunky. No makeup mirror and difficult to adjust thermostat. No fan in the bathroom? Lighting is a little dim. Spendy breakfast buffet. Lots of walkable restaurants around. Walk to the pier. Outdoor pool is fairly warm (December). Nice hot tub. Towels by the pool (you need a card). Workout room is well appointed: Peleton bikes, seated bikes, elliptical, treadmills, weight machines, towels, mirrors, yoga pads, water dispenser. Cedric at the front desk was awesome. Discount card available for nearby restaurants.
From the moment we arrived at 8 p.m., we were greeted with such warmth and enthusiasm by the front desk associate, Luna. She immediately set the tone for our stay. Even that late in the evening, she was cheerful, attentive, and genuinely eager to help. You could tell she truly cares about her guests, she went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect, including proactively adding all of my Hyatt Globalist benefits without me even having to ask. That level of service is rare and so appreciated! Our room was comfortable, but what really stood out was the breakfast at the market the next morning. I wasn’t expecting much since it’s not a sit down restaurant, but it turned out to be a pleasant surprise, fresh, tasty options. Overall, a wonderful stay made even better by an exceptional front desk team member who clearly takes pride in what she does.
Great location with views of Long Beach Harbor and nearby shopping and restaurants! Luna greeted us at checkin with a friendly smile. We had a wonderful conversation about sports, and she gave us a great room with a view. She provided us with some of the best service we have ever received at a hotel. We enjoyed a few of the amenties, including the pool and the market shop. Late checkout for $25 was a great deal! We will be staying at a Hyatt Regency again because of our experience in Long Beach.
