Hotel Maya offers a prime location near the LA Cruise Terminal and boasts excellent food experiences. However, recent reviews highlight significant issues with cancellations, missing amenities, and poor service, alongside concerns about pricing and building design inadequacies. Overall, the property has mixed reviews with a strong focus on location and food but serious problems to address.
Great location, 6 minutes away from LA Cruise Terminal. Great service, James at the front desk was always friendly and helpful. One of our best food experiences in a hotel in a long time.. And a friendly furry friend that we named Pedro. We will be back.
Views of the harbor are gorgeous! However, they just cancelled our upcoming vacation. Short term reservations are probably fine, but I wouldn't book long-term until any financial dust-up has settled. Reservations personnel are also far from friendly :(
When my wife and I arrive to the hotel we had to check in earlier everything was fine. We got an emergency call and we had to leave. We didn't come back until next morning like around 9:00 A.m. The plan was to drink a coffee in the balcony since we had to check out at 11:00 a.m. I figure out that we have 2 hours so we can enjoy our coffee and enjoy the view. We go into our room and we see that our wine bottle and the shampoo that I bought to take a shower were gone so I went to the front office and let them know what had happened they told me that they're going to investigate and check. In the meantime, I tell my wife go to the room and make The coffee from the coffee machine came to find out that the coffee maker was dirt we were pouring water on it and there was debris in that coffee maker That's when I decided that I had enough and checked out I don't recommend this place go somewhere else bad service.
The food was excellent the rooms were beautifully situated. It rained most the time and it seems like the designers of the building didn't account for rain. There were sandbags to keep the rain off in front of the doors. I had to take the elevator because I was afraid I would slip and fall on the wet stairs. It did rain in my room all night
Room was nice and updated, though the bathroom was pretty small. Checkin and checkout were smooth, no issues. The cookie was tasty. Can't beat the location if you are leaving on a cruise from the port nearby. Only real complaint was that the store by the check in was absurdly overpriced. I know it's CA and you're paying for convenience but $8 for a single bottle of water?! That is nuts. I could have one delivered for less. Also not a fan of having to pay for parking on top of the room rate.
