Guests praise the spacious suites, luxury amenities like soaking tubs, bar service, and convenient lunch cruise packages, but strong warnings regarding cleanliness standards and bed bug issues must be considered.
My room was not as clean and sanitary as it should have been. There was hair everywhere, in the bed, on the walls, in the sink. The shampoo bottle in the shower was partially used. The floor was sticky. I will not be back.
I can’t say enough good things about The Cove Hotel in Long Beach. I’ve stayed here more than 20 times over the years—both for business trips and relaxing getaways with my partner—and it has become our absolute go-to spot. Every visit reminds me why we keep coming back. The suites are truly something special. The large bathtubs alone make them some of our favorite hotel rooms not just in Long Beach, but in all of Los Angeles. After a long workday or a full day out enjoying the city, being able to unwind in a spacious, comfortable suite feels like a luxury every single time. The rooms are consistently clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully set up, which makes it easy to settle in whether we’re staying one night or several. What really sets The Cove apart, though, is the staff. They genuinely go above and beyond to make every stay feel personal and welcoming. From smooth check-ins to accommodating special requests, the team consistently exceeds our expectations. It’s rare to find a hotel that delivers this level of service so reliably, and that’s a big part of why we’re such loyal guests. If you’re looking for a place in Long Beach that feels both comfortable and a little indulgent, The Cove Hotel is it. We recommend it to friends all the time—and we’ll definitely be back again soon.
Great find for pre or post cruise hotel. Good location. There are plenty of food options within 2 minute walk. Stayed here for a pre and post cruise. There is bar (opens at 5pm) and breakfast is served here as well. Reasonably priced. I'd stay here again.
The hotel was decent and nice looking from the online photos and in the main lobby. Front end staff is friendly. The room is huge “BUTTTT” being on the first floor you can literally hear everyone upstairs walking around and talking all throughout the night until the early morning. The parking lot is rough, lots of activity at night. Overall it was just ok.
This will definitely be my go to hotel whenever im in Long Beach. It has a luxury feel at a very affordable price. The room was very spacious and clean. The outdoor area is very cozy and relaxing. We enjoyed the fire pit. AND THE BREAKFAST BURRITOS ARE SUPERB!
I arrived at the hotel at 2pm my husband checked in. We immediatly went to the pool with the kids and we where there the whole time. At 6pm Vannesa calls me and asks at what time i will be arriving and i told her i was there and she said they never checked me in mibd you they had given me keys to the room already. Then she proceeds to tell me that i made 2 reservation and could not cancel them. So i panic because how could that be if i only made one. I go to the front desk and she shows me a picture of an id and asks me if thats my husband and no that wasnt my husband. Then she says oh you guys are fine we just checked you in with a different name. So like at 8pm i go in the room to shower the kids and go back to the fire pit. We decided to go sleep like at 10 we noticed a lot of bugs in the room and on the towels. So we try to not say anything but there were just to many and we couldnt stay in that room. So we go to front desk and she only offers 20% discount because the hotel is completely booked. Or she said we could leave at this point its 11pm with sleepy kids and trying to find a room is not easy. Management should have consideration of these things before completely booking. Then again i couldn sleep in a room full off bugs that could go into my kids ears. So i decided to leave at 11:30pm to a Hyatt same price and cleanness is at is finest. Never going back
This has to be a hidden gem in Long Beach. Check in was quick...room was very spacious. Courtyard area is beautiful with many birds of paradise. Bar serves great drinks and the hotel is located close to several places to eat (highly recommend Lobster Brothers). Will DEFINITELY stay here again if in the LA area.
You have to stay at the Cove Hotel if you are taking a cruise out of Long Beach. It's not a huge hotel (2 stories), but its definitely a nice hotel. Its in the perfect location, with several eateries (next door and across the street) and even an Albertson's (across the street) within walking distance from the hotel. They also offer a "Long Beach Cruise Package" which is amazing. You get to stay there one night, park your vehicle at the hotel for up to 7 days, and they give you rides to the cruise port as well as a ride back after your cruise (taxi or uber). It was so convenient. You tell them at the front desk when you want to get to the port and they schedule your pickup. After your cruise you simply walk over to the taxis and tell them you need a ride to the Cove Hotel and the hotel gives them a voucher when you arrive. The staff is also super friendly and they have a nice bar on the premises as well. I will 1000% stay there for my next cruise out of Long Beach.
I think this hotel was fantastic. Is the it's a neighborhood hotel that was clean and and inconvenient location as far as food and shopping are concern. A staff were very friendly and professional. It was fast food restaurants around everywhere for us to eat. We also found a 98 cent store right outside the hotel to the left maybe two blocks away. The shower was awesome. The pool is nice. Overall I get this hotel four and a half stars out of five.
I came here on business/vacation so I had all of my desk equipment here, the office chair broke. The showers are disgusting and the cover smells like men’s cologne, so I don’t think that they change them. They don’t have an ice machine they have a chest with Ziploc bags and I’ve paid over $200 a night. This is not five star. I have a few more days I already paid for. Very disappointed
