Guests praise this recently renovated Hampton Inn for its pristine cleanliness, modern amenities like a heated pool and private hot tub, and excellent customer service, particularly highlighting shuttle staff. However, the property faces significant issues regarding noise from both road traffic and airport aircraft, and security concerns regarding unscheduled room entry.
Amazing hotel and I am also Hilton members. But be very carefull when crossing the light. Even you as pedestrian have green light many drivers in long beach don't care the run red lights and will hit and run. So please pay attention. Also the pedestrian crossing most drivers don't stop , for some reason the city did not put a stop sign there. Maybe the hotel can reach out to the city. Its sad how unsafe it is...
Beautiful new hotel, clean public areas and rooms were pristine. Nice pool and Jacuzzi with great views of the Long Beach airport, wonderful breakfast staff. Lobby was beautifully decorated for Christmas with a big tree. Wife and I only planned to stay one night, a toddler-free Christmas present from our family. We were rudely woken up at 6am by an alarm that we didn't set; my wife couldn't go back to sleep, sleeping in was ruined. After complaining, the desk manager apologized for the inconvenience comp'd some stuff all good, appreciated the effort. We unexpectedly had to stay another night (24hr+ power outage) so we made a second reservation, this time we brought the kids. At check-in we specifically mentioned the alarm so the desk manager sent maintenance to our room. When we got to the room, maintenance guy came out and said he "took care of it." 6am the next morning the alarm went off waking up the whole family (incl. 1yr old, 3yr old)!! Because my wife couldn't go back to sleep, she went down stairs to complain. The desk manager told us that maintenance unplugged the clock (they didn't not) then accused us of plugging it back in. After we showed her pictures that the plug is hidden and inaccessible in a "floating drawer/shelf" she admitted it would be nearly impossible for us to have done that with out tools. She was was unable to tell us what the maintenance guy actually did. To recap, second reservation, different room, same issue *after* maintenance "took care of it," different response from desk manager (did not comp anything off the stay after complaints, offered our children candy). Because of this negative experience, we will not stay here again when visiting family, which we do often.
Road noise is pretty loud, and it made it hard to sleep, which is the main reason we would choose to stay elsewhere next time. On the positive side, the location is very convenient to the airport, and there are plenty of food options nearby with LBX and several other eateries. The hotel itself was clean, and even though we had the smallest basic room, it was adequate and functional. There were lots of outlets for charging devices, and the shower had great water pressure and reliably hot water. The front desk agent who checked us in was great--friendly and helpful. The staff member who handled our checkout and also drove the shuttle, however, was not very pleasant. She did not offer to help with our luggage and had a noticeably negative attitude, which did not feel very hospitable. There are some signs of wear in the room, and the AC/heating controls were a bit tricky to figure out, though that can be the case at many hotels. We didn't get a chance to try the breakfast since we had to leave before it was served. One other downside was the mobile data signal; our phones stayed on LTE and never picked up 5G inside the hotel, though stepping outside in certain areas improved the connection. Overall, it's a nice, clean property in a convenient location, but the road noise and a less-than-friendly checkout experience mean we'll likely choose a different hotel next time.
We stayed here before and after our cruise. Everything about this hotel is great. Vanessa at the front desk was very helpful and such a pleasure to meet. Thank you Vanessa for the great customer service. The hotel is so new and well kept. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The included breakfast and airport shuttle put this hotel over the top. There are several dining options within walking distance. Thank you, we will be back.
Excellent hotel, from check in, room was very nice and clean. The included breakfast was good. The kitchen was impeccable, all the hot food was prepared invsmall batches so it was hot. Several staff members constantly supplying and cleaning. Large seating area bith inside and outside. Overall a extremely clean hotel everywhere.
We stayed here the night before our cruise and it is a great location. Everything was nice and clean. It is very close to the airport but we never heard any planes. The location is great. Across the street, there are several places to eat so we didn't have to Uber anywhere. The ride to the port was quick. We will definitely stay here again.
Room was beautiful and clean. Service was great, airport shuttle very quick to pick us up, and it was new and clean on the inside with a very polite driver. Check in was super easy, just a few minutes. This is in a great spot, walking distance from a ton of restaurants. Very nice pool and hot tub on site. 10 out of 10!
First of all, its brand new property so well designed and sharp. There is lot of leisure setup to relax and enjoy the property. Pool is nice, even biz centre. Bfast is fine. Staff is courteous , Marco was friendly in assisting with info. Ample parking and well lit. Location is nice and near to couple of good restraunts nearby. Worst the stay for biz and leisure. Its a common property ?? homewood and hampton, half and half.
Pros: clean rooms, helpful staff, location was where I needed to be at. Cons: Strong perfume scent throughout lobby & first floor as though they have a machine pumping out perfume 24/7. I smelled like the lobby for about an hour after walking through it on my way to my other activities for the day. Despite calling ahead to confirm that the laundry detergent used on their linens was unscented, the sheets did have a smell to them. All my clothes still smell like the hotel after returning home and being washed multiple times. While we were in the room, both my husband and my throats hurt and our eyes watered. Most likely from scented dryer sheets or fabric softener which clings to fabric and is difficult to remove. I would REALLY appreciate it if hotels would stop perfuming everything to create a "customer experience." The only experience I want is to be able to stay someplace clean and unscented which does not trigger respiratory issues, asthma, migraines, eczema, etc. FYI there is a third set of shades hidden behind the first two curtains. I didn't notice it until I asked the front desk staff about it. The control for the A/C unit is a wall thermostat. Both Hampton Inn and Homewood Suites are connected to the same lobby and share common areas like the pool and parking.
Privacy violated, sleep ruined, management silent. During my stay at the Hampton Inn by Hilton, housekeeping entered my room without knocking or announcing, while I was in the bathroom and unclothed. Front desk brushed it off as a supervisor “mix-up,” which is an unacceptable breach of privacy. Then on 2/15 at about 12:10 a.m., I was jolted awake by continuous knocking for several minutes. A staffer claimed there was a noise complaint and told me to open my door so they could “investigate.” I had been asleep and there was no noise. I refused to open the door and called the front desk, only to get vague answers. Shaken and unable to sleep, I went downstairs and was met by a visibly annoyed front desk employee who interrupted me, talked over me, and blamed me for the situation. I was told only the general manager would come to my room, yet the next morning housekeeping knocked again asking if they should come back later. Repeated intrusions made me feel unsafe and disrespected. The hotel said they would make things right, but they never did. The token notion of adjusting one night does not address the repeated late-night disturbance, privacy breach, and poor treatment. I requested a full refund and equivalent compensation in points. The general manager, Sergio Lee, has not responded to me since February 14. If anyone responsible is reading this, please contact me for the details and to finally resolve this. Do not stay here if you value privacy, basic courtesy, and a full night’s sleep.
