The service was impeccable. They were always helpful and never faltered. Even when I was haveing a package delivered to the hotel or needed something printed they took care of it for me. I was here for 2 weeks and never had a bad experience with the service.

Parking says free on the website. Its actually $8 per night. Extremely dirty shower head. There was an event downstairs that had non guests scattered across the hotel grounds and rooms. The third floor hallway reeked of weed. The a/c didn't work, the room was hot and stuffy so we had to keep the patio door open overnight. Overall felt overpriced for what you get.

This is the only time I’ve ever checked out of a hotel early because I just couldn’t stand to stay there another night. The room we stayed in was AWFUL! The whole building smelled damp and dirty. The room we were in had one mattress that you could feel all of the springs in when laying down. The fire sprinkler was hanging off the ceiling; electrical outlet hanging from the wall, I walked onto the deck and the flooring was so old and dry rotted my foot almost went through it. SO DANGEROUS! Worst water pressure everywhere, hard to regulate water temperature. When I checked out after one night, I informed the lady at the front desk of the multitude of issues. The response was “sorry about that” all while not making eye contact. The my email was verified for sending my receipt. I asked about a refund for the 2nd night and was met with silence. I never got my receipt Andy bank account still shows the full balance being charged so I received no refund. We will never return to this hotel. Beware everyone.

We stayed here 2 for 2 weeknights while our house was being re-piped. Classic old hotel, close by, reasonable price. Rooms were clean, water pressure strong, beds just right, except for huge pillows. Too fluffy for me. Anyway, the pool was clean and temp a little cool, but once you are in, it's fine. This hotel is a classic marina staple. We took an evening walk along the marina to check out all the boats. Once you walk under the PCH bridge (hold your nose) then the views are beautiful. A must see is the wall of stickers (mostly military and space exploration) near the pool area. I would stay again. Very nice staff too.

The place is in need of a serious updating. We get a special rate as a group, and that's a plus. We have been coming to this place for the past several years for our annual convention. However, this might be the last time. We were not happy with our room, so before settling down, I came down to ask if it was possible to switch rooms, the lady at the front desk, I believe her name was Christine, said to come back at six am the following day and ask the morning shift to get a different room. Maybe there will be some checkouts. Which didn't make any sense. I think she just didn't want to deal with it. Even when we arrived, there was no greetings or smile. On the positive side, the staff at the breakfast were very pleasant and accommodating.

We live locally but stayed here in March for a quick weekend away due to mold remediation in our place. The fact that it is being remodeled was actually a draw, since we assumed that the open rooms would be the ones already fixed up, or at least some extra care would have been taken to ensure the rooms were in good condition. The front office was beautiful, girl checking us in was thorough and had a ton of information about local places of interest and the repairs going on, but also apparently had other things to do before recognizing our existence. NBD, people get busy but you could just spare a “be right with you” or something. Half the building is boarded for repairs, and the 2 security cameras are aimed specifically at the stairwells, so don’t expect any video surveillance. Got a parking spot right in front of our room even though we checked in at 7:30 which is always appreciated. Rooms are larger than a lot of places, and the jacuzzi tub is more than enough room for 2 people. The layout is a little odd, with the tub open to the room instead of the bathroom area but that’s the way it was built. The problem with it was that the floor is sinking (the city is a sand bar and settles) so there was a good size gap between the walls/tub and floor. Caulk takes no time at all! The room was otherwise clean though and a dinner from the Mexican place a couple blocks away was awesome, get the eggplant appetizer! The tv cable was linked to the room adjoining ours, so we had a good contest over what to watch until I got behind the mount and adjusted the vines of wire apparently linking the cable/wifi boxes. Oh… water is $5 a bottle, nothing complimentary here. Now the nightmare… we settled in to get some rest, bed is comfortable and has ample pillows of various softness/thickness. Around 2am though, I started hearing low voices outside and walking back and forth. Ok, people from the bar. Then I heard what sounded like cards being tried in the doors! I woke my husband but my less than hushed voice had stopped the activity outside for the time. I was livid when we found out that there is No Security on premises, not even weekends, even though there’s a bar on the property and it’s under construction! I eventually fell back asleep with my pocketknife under my pillow, until 7am. At that point my husband told me he’d heard the lock pickers return after I fell asleep! We went straight to the front desk to cancel our 2nd night, where we were told it was “stay at your own risk”, no responsibility or apology, and zero refund whatsoever. Not even a voucher or discount for later. I’ve had nightmares since, and will never return to the area with the exception of going to that restaurant… probably for takeout so I don’t have to look at the stupid building. Can’t say anything for the pool or outdoor amenities since we ran out of there without looking back. Hope they need the money more than we do, pay a golf cart guard with it!

Would not stay again. Rooms are not as nice as the photos and parking is $8 a day. Nice little negative surprise on check in ($8 surcharge for parking is not listed on hotels com). Oh yeah and they charge you extra to check in early. They nickel and dime you on everything. Would not recommend

Stayed here for two days while visiting the aquarium of the pacific. Loved that parking was literally in front of my room. The pool was clean the room was clean. Service was great. I called for extra pillows and towels and were delivered to my room within 5 minutes. Would stay here again

???????? A Hidden Gem???????? Exceptional Service Golden Sails Hotel provided A+ service during my stay! I was in town to vend for the first time at the New Earth Psychic & Healing Arts Festival, and the staff went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable. From the moment I checked in, the two ladies at the front desk Ashley and Veronica were incredibly helpful, working to accommodate my request for a first-floor room. This made everything so much easier! The patio access was perfect for letting the kids play, getting in and out quickly, and having my car parked right outside the door. The location was also a plus, being so close to the beach. I did have an issue with my room initially…it was a not so elegant scent ruminating, but the staff handled it with such care. A gentleman (I wish I caught his name!) went out of his way to discount my stay as an apology, which I truly appreciated. That level of service is rare and speaks volumes about their commitment to guest satisfaction. The hotel itself is a charming older gem…spacious, clean, and full of character. My favorite part of the property was the gazebo, which turned out to be the perfect spot to record my morning sound bath. The peaceful energy there was exactly what I needed before a busy festival day. Overall, I’m grateful for the attentive staff, convenient layout, and thoughtful accommodations. Golden Sails made my trip a great experience, and I’d definitely stay again! The peaceful atmosphere and beautiful surroundings made it such a memorable experience. Thank you!

The room was old and Dusty, my partner developed a headache and cough that lasted several days after the visit. It was not COVID. I don't think there's a restaurant there. Room faced of the noisy incredibly busy main Street outdoors, not well blocked at all by the windows. Pool was heated in February which is good. Wi-Fi worked.
