The Homewood Suites by Hilton Long Beach Airport receives mixed reviews, with many praising its convenient location near the airport and Long Beach, as well as friendly staff and decent amenities like a pool and kitchenette. However, recurring concerns include inconsistent room quality, issues with cleanliness and maintenance (such as missing amenities, broken equipment, and slow response to maintenance requests), and variations in service levels, particularly regarding late checkouts and Hilton Diamond member benefits. Towel and supply shortages were also reported.
Not enough towels and bed linen on arrival. No room service if you stay for several days. You have to organise fresh towels yourself and ask for them several times. They say they will be delivered to your room, but this is not the case. You wait in vain and then have to ask at reception several times to get the towels. Toilet paper is not replenished either, but has to be laboriously organised yourself. According to reception, room service only takes place after 3 nights.
I love the meeting space and the amenities were nice too. Staff was great and friendly. I did not like the fact that the Hilton side did not have waffles. They had dehydrated eggs and meat. If you wanted waffles you had to go to the Hampton Inn side to get waffles. I thought Hilton would have the same for their customers being they are suppose to be on the higher end. So we did not like the back and forth. Hilton needs to put waffles on their breakfast side, so their customers dont have to go around the corner to get waffles. In room 264, there is a torn old looking shower curtain and my bed had rips on the underside of the comforter. There were also stains in the curtains. This was surprising. The comforters need replacing and alot of the towels and washcloths looked dingy. The 1st day, I requested more towels and washcloths. Since we were not in the room, they layed them on the floor in front of our room, and they were not in a plastic bag. How disgusting. The 2nd time, i told the front desk to make sure they put them in a plastic bag, if they are not going to put them in the room. It would be nice if they offered other amenities in the bathroom sink area, besides a small hand soap and toweletts to remove makeup. The towels and washcloths were not qood quality either. I was very disappointed in this hotel for the price we paid. My Hilton experiences before this, were great until now. Even though this was a handicap room, they should have the same stellar treatment as the other customers. They need to upgrade these rooms.
This place is very well maintained, and close to everything I did have a problem in my first room.I would recommend that no one gets room number 547, it is underneath the air conditioner on the roof and throughout the night, it woke me up because there's a very bad vibration.Noise coming from the ceiling. But I talked to the staff about it, and they switched me rooms pretty promptly. And I would definitely recommend staying here, because the staff here is super friendly and very accommodating. By far one of my favorite hiltons, I have stayed at. My second room is nice. But the furniture is a little bit worn other than that.I would not have an issue staying here again.
As soon as i walked in, Dana and Vanessa were very welcoming and understanding with my accomodations with my stay. I can't forget about Nelly. Nelly was really kind and sweet with my concerns to my breakfast needs. If I was a manager I would give all of these girls a raise. Thank you for the phenomenal experience!
This was nice place to stay. They had nice size pool, lots of outside areas and comfortable lobby. Our room's kitchen was good. The mall was next to you. We had 6 people but it was nice stay. We might come back again.
Hotel appears to be relatively new. Rooms are clean and nice. However, nobody came to clean our room the entire week that we stayed here and when we arrived the shampoo was empty. Front desk was helpful when I put in requests for towels, etc., but the whole point of staying on a hotel rather than an AirBnB is to have some come tidy up the room during your stay. Time to get rid of the dumb policy adopted during COVID of not cleaning your room daily.
The ceiling was very thin, and we could hear people walking above us. The front desk was very courteous and helpful until our last day when the woman behind the front desk was rude, and she acted bothered and imposed upon when my wife tried to ask her a question. She answered very abruptly and made no eye contact. Her job is customer service. She should realize that and do the job properly!
I enjoyed my stay at Homewood. The room was spacious, clean, and included a kitchen, which was a great convenience. Upon arrival, I was offered a complimentary snack and drink as part of a special event. The breakfast was decent, with multiple options available. The hotel also had a nice swimming pool, adding to the overall experience. The only negative item that I fan refer was the AC noise but nothing critical.
Loved staying here! We usually stay on the other side at the Hampton, but I think I like this more. Happy hour started when we arrived and it was great! The room was also good. Wonderful kitchenette, storage, and pull out couch. The beds were comfortable and the black out curtains were a great touch. The only issue we had was we arrived to the room and there was no hand soap.
Homewood Suites is almost always a great choice for a stay. I live in Fullerton, but got a room for the weekend when my best friend was in town so we could hang out in Long Beach. The proximity to Whole Foods and the airport made things super easy. The room was spacious. I also appreciate that they have doors on the bathroom (vs. the sliders that a lot of hotels are doing lately). This didn’t negatively impact us for more than a couple minutes, but whatever cleaner is used in the lobby area, it smelled strongly of ax body spray. Parking is an additional charge, but I believe that was stated when I booked, so just a note.
