The Long Beach Marriott offers a convenient airport location with excellent on-site dining options like Starbucks and a Mexican restaurant, alongside a pool, gym, and modern guest rooms; however, recent reviews report serious maintenance issues including moldy bedding and dirty facilities, as well as confusion regarding parking fees and pool availability.
Long Beach Marriott is a large hotel. It has an on-site Starbucks, a bar and Mexican food restaurant. You can do a lot with their Bon Voy app, such as checking in/out, wifi and remote door access. There is plenty of free parking available outside. The gym/workout room looked decent as well as their outdoor pool. I attended a conference in one of their banquet rooms and it was spacious and comfortable. The room was nice and the bed was comfy as far as hotel beds go. Overall, I had a good experience.
What was amazing? The following team associates made the stay wonderful: Marilyn (Restaurant) Justin (FD Mgmt) Mon (shuttle bus driver) Melo (Omelet station) Bestie and I stayed here for prior to our 5-day cruise. I absolutely enjoyed my brief time at the Long Beach Marriott and would return to this property. First of all, I identified myself as a former Assistant Front Desk Manager and VIP Ambassador for another luxury hotel chain. Did it get me anything? Yes, it did. I got me exceptional service from team members. The Long Beach Marriott Hotel is located in a central location near the Long Beach Airport. Our friendly and attentive hotel shuttle driver, Mon, picked us up for the short drive. Once at the hotel, check-in at the front desk was a seamless and informative process. The staff was always present to greet us each time we arrived or departed. The elevators up to the room were clean and fast. The hotel hallway was brightly lit and carpet clean-looking. The room and common area furnishings were modern and well kept. We experienced absolutely no issues at all with the room. I did have some noise concerns about the room being faced towards the Long Beach Airport yet the airport noise was never problematic. The deliciously hot breakfast buffet is located in the Terrace Grill. The well maintained serving area had custom omelets, waffles, baked goods, eggs, meats and seasonal fruit.
Extremely disappointed with my stay On December 27th Fire alarm kept going off since 7AM and continued to go off every 10 minutes till 10 am. Employee at the Front desk would pick up the front desks phone and say “false alarm” and hang up the phone on you Manager IVAN said that he didn’t believe his employee would do that because they are one of the most trained employees they have so what does this make you think about the rest of the employees extremely rude staffs. Beds are also not comfortable you sink in to the bed ! DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL !!!
The outside pool was dirty. They turned the jacuzzi into a fireplace that doesn't work. The indoor pool is heated but still cold and the doors to the outside workd are open, the area isn't heated. There are no towels at the pool area. The app sucks and is really unintuitive. They force you to check in 30 minutes in advance without making it clear when you're booking a room, so if you miss this detail you might have to wait for half an hour. There was no shampoo in the bottle in the shower, or a proper trash can in the bathroom for femenine higiene products for example. There's no info in the room about how the WiFi works, or what the breakfast times are, just info about what you can purchase at the restaurant that isn't quite clear about how to ask them to deliver it to the room. The coffee machine in the room also doesn't come with instructions and it might leak everywhere.
I suggest to check out your blankets. We experienced gross blankets with mold. My poor mom did not noticed it until the next day. When I brought it up to the front desk they apologized and said they would send housekeeping immediately. When I went back to the room we saw blankets on a bag in the floor. So unprofessional were they expecting me to change it? They also said they will make the supervisor aware. At the time of check out I asked if it was noted what had happened they said no. When I shared what happened and the picture the front desk employee was like whatever and said nothing was noted on the account. It made me feel it was not the first time it was brought up to their attention. I asked if I could speak to a manager but I was told no one was available. I then asked if she could note if a manager could call me. She immediately gives me the managers card and said you can call him here. First time I experience this type of service at a Marriott. Not sure if I will come back to them. Breakfast at the hotel was OK Starbucks coffee good Marriott management check your blankets/covers is time to upgrade them/change them.
Highly recommend on all counts: staff, cleanliness, comfort, convenience. We stayed as a family with a last minute reservation as our evening flight got cancelled. The staff we very professional and kind, dealing with a load of passengers from our flight showing up late at night.
Hotel staff was top notch. Helped me greatly with an early check in plus free shuttle service from the Long Beach Airport. The property is well maintained with a nice outdoor pool and a small indoor pool next to the fitness center. If you need a hotel near the airport, Long Beach Marriott is hard to beat!
I recently stayed here with my husband and I loved our stay. The service was excellent, the staff was very attentive. The food at the bar in the lobby was great as well and we also had dinner at the Mexican restaurant and it was delicious! The M lounge was a great spot to relax and enjoy breakfast in the mornings. The breakfasts were the best I’ve had at a hotel. I highly suggest staying here!
Stayed here one night and the property is not well maintained and the pool was closed for maintenance. Our room view was the top of the building. We sat outside by the pool and all you could smell was engine diesel and it was very loud. The beds are always comfy at Marriott and the shower was nice. The room was clean but there were some cobwebs in the corners of the ceiling. The staff was very pleasant.
I’m very disappointed with my recent booking at this Marriott. The main reason I booked this property was because of the outdoor pool, which is currently under construction and completely unavailable. Nowhere on the website or booking page did it state this, and when I asked about it at check-in, the manager insisted it was listed online — which was simply not true at all. Not only was this misleading, but the attitude at the front desk from both the receptionist and manager was unprofessional and dismissive when I raised my concerns. As a paying guest, I expect honesty and transparency, not excuses. Guests deserve accurate information when booking, especially about amenities that many families specifically choose a hotel for. Unfortunately, this experience left me feeling deceived and very let down by Marriott.
This property is not bookable on our official site, you will be taken to the listing externally.
