The Long Beach Marriott offers a central location near the airport and provides comfortable accommodations with amenities like a pool and on-site dining. While guests often praise the friendly staff and convenient location, recurring issues with inconsistent service, outdated facilities, and unexpected charges have been reported.
The Long Beach Marriott is a wonderful place to stay! It's underrated for it's 3-star status, the hotel has a beautiful outdoor pool area for adults and kids, waterfalls (kids don't try to get in ?), and the firepit area which I don't get why it wasn't on in the evening time. The service from the front desk was very pleasant, the staff was helpful and willing to ensure you have an excellent stay. While we didn't go to the on-site restaurant, I'm sure it's probably tasty. Rooms were great, beds were extremely comfortable and the bedding was nice. Would I stay here again, I'd give an enthusiastic yes!
I had a mixed experience during my recent stay. While the room was clean and suitable for my needs, and the pool area is quite nice, there were significant service and value issues that would make me hesitant to return. Dining: Be aware that the restaurants are separate organizations from the hotel. The breakfast options are very expensive ($28 USD for the buffet), and unfortunately, the quality did not match the price. The pastries and French toast were not fresh. Furthermore, while the front desk stated breakfast was served until 10:00 AM, the staff began closing the buffet at 9:30 AM, making us feel rushed. I would recommend looking for food options off-site. Guest Shuttles: There seems to be a major lack of communication between management and front desk staff regarding guest transportation. We were initially offered a shuttle to the Long Beach Exchange (LBX), but when we called for the return trip as instructed, the agent claimed they "don't do shuttles for guests." While they eventually honored the ride, the interaction was unprofessional and made us feel like a significant inconvenience. Overall, while the physical property is well-maintained, the lack of coordination between departments and the poor value of the breakfast made for a frustrating stay.
I came here with a wheelchair disabled friend, and they got us one of their disabled accessible rooms. It was on the fifth floor with a view of the airstrip and the pool. Little did we know that he had a terrible fear of heights. My group had a snaffu of miscommunication and things got pretty heated. But the staff had no problem sorting things out and immediately got us a similar room on the second floor. The room service food is pretty great, and the Tamarindo attached to the hotel is great too. I've been to many Marriot hotels before but this visit demonstrated their competency and gratuity. Five stars across the board.
We recently stayed at this location. We flew in from across the US for a quick doctor’s appointment. We needed something fairly priced, convenient, and comfortable. This location checked all the boxes. We loved not having a surprise charge for parking. We were greeted by Justin Outlaw at the front desk and he was the epitome of customer service. We had a minor mishap with our first room and he swiftly fixed it. We care less about having issues as that is inevitable, and more about how they are remedied. We were very pleased with the services and the comfort of the hotel. The beds were soft and the rooms were spacious and clean. Special shoutout to Luis with housekeeping also. We are looking forward to our next stay.
Long Beach Marriott is a large hotel. It has an on-site Starbucks, a bar and Mexican food restaurant. You can do a lot with their Bon Voy app, such as checking in/out, wifi and remote door access. There is plenty of free parking available outside. The gym/workout room looked decent as well as their outdoor pool. I attended a conference in one of their banquet rooms and it was spacious and comfortable. The room was nice and the bed was comfy as far as hotel beds go. Overall, I had a good experience.
What was amazing? The following team associates made the stay wonderful: Marilyn (Restaurant) Justin (FD Mgmt) Mon (shuttle bus driver) Melo (Omelet station) Bestie and I stayed here for prior to our 5-day cruise. I absolutely enjoyed my brief time at the Long Beach Marriott and would return to this property. First of all, I identified myself as a former Assistant Front Desk Manager and VIP Ambassador for another luxury hotel chain. Did it get me anything? Yes, it did. I got me exceptional service from team members. The Long Beach Marriott Hotel is located in a central location near the Long Beach Airport. Our friendly and attentive hotel shuttle driver, Mon, picked us up for the short drive. Once at the hotel, check-in at the front desk was a seamless and informative process. The staff was always present to greet us each time we arrived or departed. The elevators up to the room were clean and fast. The hotel hallway was brightly lit and carpet clean-looking. The room and common area furnishings were modern and well kept. We experienced absolutely no issues at all with the room. I did have some noise concerns about the room being faced towards the Long Beach Airport yet the airport noise was never problematic. The deliciously hot breakfast buffet is located in the Terrace Grill. The well maintained serving area had custom omelets, waffles, baked goods, eggs, meats and seasonal fruit.
Extremely disappointed with my stay On December 27th Fire alarm kept going off since 7AM and continued to go off every 10 minutes till 10 am. Employee at the Front desk would pick up the front desks phone and say “false alarm” and hang up the phone on you Manager IVAN said that he didn’t believe his employee would do that because they are one of the most trained employees they have so what does this make you think about the rest of the employees extremely rude staffs. Beds are also not comfortable you sink in to the bed ! DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL !!!
The outside pool was dirty. They turned the jacuzzi into a fireplace that doesn't work. The indoor pool is heated but still cold and the doors to the outside workd are open, the area isn't heated. There are no towels at the pool area. The app sucks and is really unintuitive. They force you to check in 30 minutes in advance without making it clear when you're booking a room, so if you miss this detail you might have to wait for half an hour. There was no shampoo in the bottle in the shower, or a proper trash can in the bathroom for femenine higiene products for example. There's no info in the room about how the WiFi works, or what the breakfast times are, just info about what you can purchase at the restaurant that isn't quite clear about how to ask them to deliver it to the room. The coffee machine in the room also doesn't come with instructions and it might leak everywhere.
I suggest to check out your blankets. We experienced gross blankets with mold. My poor mom did not noticed it until the next day. When I brought it up to the front desk they apologized and said they would send housekeeping immediately. When I went back to the room we saw blankets on a bag in the floor. So unprofessional were they expecting me to change it? They also said they will make the supervisor aware. At the time of check out I asked if it was noted what had happened they said no. When I shared what happened and the picture the front desk employee was like whatever and said nothing was noted on the account. It made me feel it was not the first time it was brought up to their attention. I asked if I could speak to a manager but I was told no one was available. I then asked if she could note if a manager could call me. She immediately gives me the managers card and said you can call him here. First time I experience this type of service at a Marriott. Not sure if I will come back to them. Breakfast at the hotel was OK Starbucks coffee good Marriott management check your blankets/covers is time to upgrade them/change them.
Highly recommend on all counts: staff, cleanliness, comfort, convenience. We stayed as a family with a last minute reservation as our evening flight got cancelled. The staff we very professional and kind, dealing with a load of passengers from our flight showing up late at night.
